You can argue it's not a good deal, but it was never launched at $299.

Here's a screenshot of my order. The starter bundle, which comes with an extra battery and selfie stick, for $329 in December. The camera by itself was $299.

This was available at all retailers. So, this "deal" is $40 above the original price.

Pretty big learning curve with their software.

Its also pretty heavy. I kept it for about a week, and then ended up returning it.

Seems like the X4 Air is a decent alternative to the X5 - has a replaceable lens that the X4 does not, has a slightly smaller battery, but overall a decent deal if you don't need everything the X5 offers at a much lower price point.
Have been waffling on getting one of these but think I would spring for the X4 Air if I was going to buy today.
