18w RMS at 8 Ohms can be quite loud for a small room. This has a retro Harman Kardon look. Can anyone who has this confirm the output specs?

I have the older 15 watt model in a not so quiet office area. It gets plenty loud. We keep it an office acceptable level, so that those on the opposite side of our walled of area, don't hear us.

Wattage only paints half the picture. 18 solid watts into very sensitive speakers can play at uncomfortably loud levels.

That said, I wouldn't expect that from these. Probably rated a very average SPL. This will be completely adequate for a bedroom, dorm, our home office. I would not recommend a micro system like this for a living room or bigger space.

Cheap solution for a garage audio system. 18W is plenty, given I have neighbors Frown

I feel like you can get an amp/receiver + DVD player (to play CDs) + speakers on FB Marketplace or Craigslist for cheaper. Probably won't get BT and probably older units but still functional and better sound than this.

I don't know where SD gets their price history from, but this thing is normally $139 not $180. So at $129 it's $10 off. Whoop
