This Stanley Wildfare cook set is a compact all in one camp kitchen built for car camping, cabins, and short stays where having everything packed together matters. The stainless steel pot and pan get the strongest praise for feeling solid, cleaning easily, and working on everything from an electric stove to a campfire. It is also handy for families and travel because it covers most meal situations and avoids relying on questionable rental cookware. The main limits are size and weight for backpacking or bikepacking, and the plastic utensil parts and small plates feel less robust. A practical grab and go setup when space is the priority.
car camping families with young kids because the pre-bundled set is a "grab and go" setup that covers most meal situations with simple cooking.
people camping out of their car with limited space because it's a dedicated cookware kit (bowls to forks) that avoids dragging/denting your good pots and pans on trips and works well for Airbnb-style stays where provided cookware is often poor.
backyard/cabin/rental users who want reliable cookware when you can't trust what's already there because commenters say they use the set for 10 years and it has everything needed to cook while camping and in rentals.
backpackers/day hikers who need compact cookware for a simple hot meal for a small group because commenters say it's a good quality set with everything you need when total gear space is very important.
travelers who want to bring their own compact cookware to avoid questionable nonstick pans at rentals because one commenter compares it to an Airbnb cookware solution and says it's a good way to travel with your own set.
hikers/bikepackers/canoe trippers who are trying to keep their kit small and packable because the set is described as not for hiking and "probably not recommended" for bikepacking/canoe trips due to size (even if weight is less of an issue).
people who are backpacking (not car camping) because one commenter says it would be "absolutely horrible for backpacking" and that it's a car-camping kit that can be hard to fit in a car for 4 people.
tote/car-camping shoppers who don't care about space or weight because commenters say if you're just "camping" from a tote and space/weight isn't important, there are better ways to put together a camp kitchen.
camp cooks who expect the utensils to be as durable as the stainless cookware because the community notes plastic components on the utensils can break easily.
Yes. It is described as a grab-and-go setup that covers most meal situations for car camping, cabins, and Airbnb-style stays where cookware is often poor or unavailable. It also packs everything from bowls and forks to a pot and pan into one kit.
It is better suited to car camping than backpacking. The set is compact and useful for simple hot meals, but it is too bulky for hiking, bikepacking, or canoe trips where space and mobility matter.
The pot and pan are the strongest parts of the kit: the pot is stainless steel and the pan is described as solid and usable on both an electric stove and a campfire. The cutlery is the weaker part, with plastic components that may be less durable.
The set is lightweight, affordable, easy to use, compact, and easy to clean, with a stainless steel pot and pan that hold up well. The main drawbacks are small plates and plastic utensil components that can break more easily.
That's cute but not the same. Also the sea to summit one is refillable too. You just pour soap into the bottle.
The difference is that the sea to summit one also has a hard edge scraper and the soap bottle can be removed to use separately from the scrubber body. So, we use it as our everything soap(shower, dishes, etc) and then the scrubber for our pots and pans.
If you're backpacking or day hiking where total gear space is very important because it impacts your mobility/enjoyment/etc, yes this is a good quality set with everything you need for a simple hot meal for 4 people. If you're just 'camping' like from a tote you carry from your car, and space/weight is not important then there are better ways to put together a camp kitchen that will be much more enjoyable for all involved.
I strongly disagree.
This would be absolutely horrible for backpacking. This is for car camping. Its just a kit with everything. If you aren't going car-camping with a pickup, it can be hard to fit everything in the back of a car for 4 people.
Yeah, this is like $30 cool to me. $65? I'll just bring a bag of utensils and pile of paper plates. Much easier to throw them into the fire when done for cleanup anyway.
