This is around the price they used to offload these at on their re-certified site. Sam's Club also this model at this same price in early January.

Too bad it's not for the gold color as well, that one seems more aligned with the price than the basic black.

If you have the space get Klipsch the Nine for around the same price. This sounds good for the use case but you'll get much better sound with the Nine.

LOL, I love these obscenely overpriced, underperforming "lifestyle" products. Funny to see B&W getting into the game---this market segment is usually dominated by the likes of Bose or Bang & Olufson. Though I suppose B&W itself is a bit of a "lifestyle" brand...it leverages massive distribution reach in being sold at Best Buy where the sales folk like to present it as their top "premium" or "luxury" and "prestige" brand (easy to do if you have customers listen to bottom of the barrel junk like Polk XT, Def Tech or Klipsch R series), perhaps because "B & W" vaguely sounds like "BMW"---and it has the two requisites of the "lifestyle" market: very attractive form factor + deliberately "inflated-to-impress" price tags = lots of gullible, low-info buyers.

Yep, pretty much ANY discrete stereo-pair speakers will sound better than an all-in-one package.

This thing is basically a novelty item with a massive eye candy tax.
