Ryobi's PCL720K is a cordless stick vacuum that shines for quick cleanups, especially if you already have Ryobi batteries. It gets praise for swapping batteries easily, handling hardwood, rugs, stairs, pet hair, and occasional car or garage messes, and the included battery makes the clearance price feel especially strong. The main tradeoffs are weight, a small bin, and limited deep cleaning on carpet, with some reports of static shocks and attachment gaps like no hose. A handy floor vacuum if you want battery compatibility and simple grab and go use.

  • households that already own lots of Ryobi batteries because multiple commenters said battery swapping makes it easy to keep it ready to go and they like it more than corded options.

  • pet owners who want a quick stick-vac replacement for a dust-buster and a big corded vacuum because the pet-version Ryobi replaced both types of vacuums for one commenter and they're considering getting another for a second floor.

  • people doing occasional car/garage-area cleanups who don't want to haul out a bulky shop vac because one commenter said it was "just what I needed" for the occasional car cleanup and that the shop vac was too cumbersome.

  • buyers who mainly need light dust and sawdust pickup on hard floors because one commenter said it's decent for minor dust/dirt pickup and they don't expect deep cleaning (especially since they don't always have time to bring out the big vacuum).

  • homes with hardwood and lots of long pet hair where you want strong pickup without power drop because a commenter with two cats (including a Maine Coon) said it has plenty of power for hardwood and handles long cat hair with no power issues.

  • people expecting it to deep-clean carpet because commenters said it won't clean carpet well and is only good for light dust/sawdust on hard floors.

  • pet owners who need reliable brush-roller performance because one commenter reported that two Ryobi stick vacuum versions got the roller caught on pet hair and burned out the motor that spins the brush.

  • older adults or anyone who struggles with heavier stick vacs because an 81-year-old couldn't handle the Ryobi weight and the commenter preferred a lighter Dyson for quick cleanups.

  • buyers doing whole-house carpet sessions because one commenter said the bin is small and you'll need to empty it multiple times for a single carpeted floor.

  • people sensitive to winter static shocks or who dislike a front-heavy feel because a commenter said it sends rapid-fire static shocks into their hand in winter and feels hefty with a 4Ah battery concentrated near the wrist.

  • buyers who want to avoid waiting on an internal battery recharge and already have DeWalt batteries because one commenter said it would be super convenient if DeWalt made one so they could use their existing batteries instead of waiting for an internal battery to recharge.

I got 2 of these on clearance last time it came up. They're good and replaced a Dyson I got tired of replacing batteries for.

Then I got to missing the docking capability so I bought a used PBLSV719K on eBay for around 120. Having the dock is so clutch so you can mount and charge without removing the battery, and that vacuum head has 2 roller brushes. Worthwhile upgrade.

i got this on clearance 6 months ago at Home Depot. the clearance price then was 49.00 for this item. I replaced two old Dysons where the batteries died. Not sure i would pay the current clearance price but for 49.00 they are very good and similar to the Dysons
damn $49 with batteries?! never seen it anywhere near that price. Jealous.

My bad it was the vaccuum only. But they did have 2 batteries and a charger for 49.00 at the time so it cost me close to this deal

Damn, none anywhere near OKC. I kinda wish DeWalt made one. I've got tons of their tools and batteries and being able to use those instead of waiting for an internal battery to recharge would be super convenient.
Look on eBay. You can find battery adapters between the different manufacturers pretty easily.

just got back from Home Depot, got one... won't say they're hiding them, but I had to ask someone where they were. Turned out to be stacked way up high on the top shelf of those storage shelving they have over top of the aisles a couple of aisles down from where they have all the other vacuums at........ the guy I asked had no idea about the clearance sale but when he saw the price, he grabbed one for himself after getting one down for me, lol

We've had this for about a year and love it. It has plenty of power for our floors. We have hardwood everywhere but tons of area rugs. We've got 2 cats. 1 of them is a Maine Coon, so lots of long hair everywhere. It has no problem with it and we never worry about power asI must have at least 15 Ryobi batteries, so it's always ready to go.

There were a few in stock in my area so I snagged one. I was impressed with how well it worked on the hardwoods and on carpeted stairs. Can't speak to longevity though.

Someone at my Home Depot had taken these all out of their spot with the clearance sticker, and put them in the middle of a plastic wrapped pallet of Ryobi weedeaters. Yoink.

Woo! Battery powered vacuum! My floors are gonna be so clean in the middle of the next hurricane.

it was $99 tool only on BF deal. I like it so far. $15 more for battery is hot I think.

I prefer this to either of the Dyson's I've owned by far. At least I can swap batteries easily.
This one or you got the brusheless?

Picked one up today. Decent lightweight unit. I don't expect any deep cleaning but great for minor dust and dirt pickup. We don't have time of carpet so we don't always have the big vacuum cleaner out. I have a ton of Ryobi batteries so easy decision
