I notice that Groupon carries the same promotion but better. They don't charge sales tax. I was able to get a membership earlier this week for flat $20. Directly through Sam's Club was around $24.

This promotion charges sales tax? I noticed Groupon (I don't know if it's different by region, but at least it's this price in my area) has it for $25 regular and $60 Plus. If going through Sam's is tax-free, I'd save $5 on Plus. Ironically, I'd still save about 46 cents going through Sam's even if they charged tax, assuming Groupon is tax-free.

I signed up a few days ago when they were offering $30 Sam's cash for the $50 membership. It is slightly different from discounted membership. However, it allows me to use the AMEX offer which is only valid for purchase of new membership.

i miss groupon deals slickdeals use to have. 35$ but you got 25$ gift card and at least 10$ in free food basically making the membership free to try for a year
