T-Mobile 5G Home Internet is described as a fast, location dependent wireless replacement for cable, with strong speeds for streaming, gaming, and multiple devices when reception is good. The $30 starting price and five year price lock are tied to a qualifying voice line and AutoPay, and the promo can include a virtual prepaid Mastercard or bill credits. The main friction is the rebate and billing process, which often requires careful submission and follow up. Coverage and congestion matter a lot, so checking local signal quality first is the safest takeaway.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can be fast enough for streaming and everyday use, but latency and consistency vary a lot by location. VoIP, Zoom, gaming, and work calls can break up or drop when the signal is unstable or the tower is congested.

  • The rebate is commonly described as taking about 14 weeks from fulfillment requirements, with some people seeing it in 4-6 weeks and others waiting 2.5 to 4 months. The promo also says to register the code within 30 days of activating the new line.

  • Yes. The $30/month starting price is tied to a qualifying postpaid voice line, a new internet line, and AutoPay. Without the voice bundle, the site language and comments indicate the price can be higher or the discount may not apply.

  • Use the 5G Home Internet gateway line number, not your cell voice line. Submitting the voice number can trigger an automatic denial, while calling support can get the rebate manually pushed through.

  • The plans share the same base speed package, but the mid-tier and high-tier include a newer modem that can output faster speeds. During congestion, the Rely tier can slow down more, and all plans are deprioritized after 1.2 TB in a billing cycle.

GeForce now is extremely sensitive to latency. It's one of the most, if not the most sensitive services out there. It also needs constant speed..it transmits more data than Netflix and needs constant low, stable latency.
What are you on about?
oh whoops. for some reason i thought geforce now was the video recorder nvidia made. i guess it depends on your coverage and distance to the tower then. also how busy the area is.

Unreliable in California bay area (Sunnyvale and Santa Clara)

The speed fluctuates wildly and zoom calls for work become laggy and unreliable. Returned mine. Bad product.

Your experiences might vary depending on congestion on your local mobile networks

I've had it since the beginning. Speeds vary but usually am around 300Mb minimum up to 700-900Mbps

Just note, with 5G home internet, reliability is super local. It can work great at one house and then kind of suck 3 blocks away.
I lucked out with super fast speeds but know people in my area that struggle.

I just signed up for this last week. They already appear to be pulling the bait-and-switch with the pricing. I signed up for the mid-tier plan at $40 per month. No ambiguity in the terms or pricing. The first bill in the app shows $62.10. It is not applying the $20 per month discount "Guaranteed for 5 years". I know what's coming trying to get this resolved. Very shady way to try and scam brand new customers right out of the gate.

They won't give you the rebate. Look at all the recent posts on other thread. They play games, make up random problems that didn't happen and make you wait months

Edit: Some of you replied you keep screenshots and always get yours. I'm not new to this. I've done it before also. This time they really put up a fight and gaslighted me. They even resubmitted my rebate and created a new entry ID offer after the one I applied for was supposedly ineligible, the new one is currently still pending after two weeks. I signed up beginning of Dec....
Same for me. I signed up 11/30 and my receipt even shows a free month that they keep not giving me. I've had reps over multiple calls and chats say I should get these and they are elevating it and then I get nothing. I'm giving them to the end of the week and then cancelling.
