You can connect this to some of the DJI cameras without needing a receiver. You can also add it to an existing receiver. I think the max is 2 transmitters per receiver for the Mini.
You can also connect it via Bluetooth, but the sound quality will not be as good. I think Samsung is working on having better quality over Bluetooth in their newest OS, One UI 8.5. This is not officially out of beta so don't buy it hoping it'll come.
If you want to connect it to your phone, computer, or camera at full quality, you will need the receiver. You might be better off getting one of the kits that come with it.
