Cool mist sucks if you aren't using distilled water. Calcium dust everywhere with tap water. Warm mist only for me.

I use water from my dehumidifier, works great.

use water from a decent filter and you'll get much better performance without the high cost of distilled

If you use an ultrasonic humidifier, it can be dangerous if not using filtered, distilled water. Tap water can have hard minerals that aren't great for you if made into aerosol.

Cool mist is the best.

You probably have very hard water. eventually a "countertop" reverse osmosis filter will help you a lot. Otherwise a zero filter or maybe a PUR
