- Your Steam Library, anywhere. Once you've logged into Steam Deck, your entire Steam Library shows up, just like any other PC. You'll also see the compatibility rating of each game, indicating the kind of experience you can expect when playing. You can dynamically filter any view in your library by compatibility rating if you're looking for specific sorts of experiences.

The Steam Deck OLED stands out as a strong handheld for on the go gaming, with the trackpads, SteamOS, and overall input feel making it a favorite over many Windows based rivals. The OLED upgrade is described as a worthwhile step up from the LCD model, and the device can even stream heavier games from a PC when needed. Availability is the biggest issue, with refurb stock and even standard units often out of stock, and the $549 price feels less compelling for older hardware. Storage and screen tradeoffs also come up, especially for the 512GB model and the etched panel on the 1TB version.
Common Questions (5)
The 512GB OLED is a solid buy if you want one now, but a refurb may be the better value if you can wait. Refurb stock has been hard to catch, and the recent out-of-stock situation makes future pricing and availability uncertain.
Yes, because the Deck's Linux/SteamOS setup and trackpad/input design can make it feel better in real use than Windows handhelds that are faster on paper. It also performs well enough that some games can run better on the Deck than on competing devices due to lower Windows overhead and better drivers.
One upgrade path is to sell an LCD Deck for around $400 and buy the OLED for about $600 after tax, making the net upgrade roughly $200. That makes the OLED feel more reasonable if you can recover value from the old unit.
Yes. A common suggestion is to buy the 512GB model and install a larger SSD, since the 1TB version has been criticized for its etched screen while the 512GB keeps the standard display.
It was not discontinued; the issue is availability because Valve reportedly cannot make them fast enough due to memory shortages. That means stock can be sporadic rather than permanently gone.

I wish I was making the big bucks, but saving up and purchasing over time makes more sense. I get to appreciate each product for what it is over that time. It's copium but keeps me from feeling FOMO.
Went with ASUS ROG Ally X, and couldn't be happier. Its newer, more powerful, and literally a laptop with a touchscreen 120hz. IT IS more expensive, $1k but versatility is worth it.
Asus and Lenovo upped their game hard. ASUS is way more comfortable to hold.
