Don't expect a warranty if purchased thru woot/Amazon as they are not an approved seller by Milwaukee. Similar price is available thru Home Depot the past few days.

As long as they aren't counterfeit, all Milwaukee stuff has a warranty. If not authorized seller the warranty start date is based on the manufacturer date instead of the purchase date.

Sure. And the manufacture date could easily be 1 year or more from the date you bought it. Effectively cutting your warranty down by a 3rd or more.
Why would anyone do that vs getting it from a legit approved seller

You can check the warranty period without opening the package.I was only correcting what the other person said. You can make your own informed purchase decision.

I have a $50 off $75 offer on my capital one card for woot so that's reason enough for me

Thanks and repped! For $10 more, I'd rather go the Authorized Dealer route via Home Depot. But I saw your comment and had the same offer in my Capital One. Score!
Thanks!

I wonder if they've added cell balancing yet to their M12 batteries, the older ones do not have it, they only measure cell voltage for safety during charging. Due to the way they designed the circuit with 1 megaohm resistors in between the cells and battery contacts, there is no way for the charger to balance the battery, and there is no onboard BMS either.
It results in batteries that fail very quickly, even when the cells are still good. Since the tool doesn't shut off when a cell gets low and proceeds to over-discharge and damage the low cell block, and the charger isn't able to correct the imbalance either.
One of the worst battery designs I've ever seen.
