It's fine.
My background: fan since the beginning, hate the Bay movies, really like Bumblebee, love Transformers One.
This is...fine. It's not a terrible mess like the Bay films. Starts off strong, but gets more and more 'meh' as you go. Cast is great, but the plot is very cookie-cutter, and there are both too many characters and not enough. For another destroy-the-world plot, it really lacks scale, with what feels like just a handful of robots. At the same time, there's too many for each of them to shine and feel more than one-dimensional. I want to like it more than I actually do, if that makes sense. They tried, and there's a respect for the lore that the Bay movies couldn't be bothered with. Unfortunately, that alone doesn't make it a great movie.

If you don't care about the steelbook, you can get the 4K (no Blu-ray) version for $14:
