At Staples - No Purchase Fee when you buy a $200 Mastercard Gift Card In Store Only (a $7.95 value) - Starts from 3/1/26-3/7/26 - Limit 9 per customer per day

In store only.

FAQ's:
- No, you cannot use Staples GC's to purchase these.
- No, these do not count towards your spend requirements for a premier membership.
- No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards.
- No, you cannot use coupons/ rewards to purchase these GC's.
- Yes, you can split payment between multiple cards (if your cashier permits it) YMMV
- The limit of 9 may or may not be enforced depending on your store/ cashier. YMMV
- Why is this a deal? Some members have CC's that earn 5% CB at office supply stores (INK and Amex Simply Cash). Others need to meet minimum CC spend.
- What if my store doesn't accept payment with a CC? Your store likely has had issues with fraud and it is managers discretion on what payment they will accept.
- Other chase cards may have special offers for Staples ($ limited). Check your chase account under chase offers.

Is there an easy way to transfer the money off of the Mastercard GC back to a checking or savings account?

I wouldn't call it "easy". The easy method is to just use them for random purchases like getting food, groceries, paying bills, etc

If you're referring to those online "e-gift cards" then I would recommend avoiding at all costs. They are VERY difficult to get rid of, stores refuse to manually enter the numbers and online retailers also refuse these more than even the physical gift cards are rejected. I've had luck dumping e-gift cards toward my passport, and dumping into Amazon gift balances (though that requires adding the card, purchasing and being sure to select the right card, then after successfully applying it delete the card, then hope there's no glitch that might have Amazon block your account). I used to be able to apply these gift debit cards toward my insurance payments (which are ample amounts and previously worked fine) but now State Farm is apparently blocking them. They might say "Visa" or "Mastercard" but debit gift cards play by much different rules. I have a balance on one that's below $10 and can't get rid of it so far- Amazon requires minimum $10 purchase to bump up a gift card balance. Basically these are only useful for Groceries and in-person purchases at select merchants you won't be sure of until you reach the register, and even then may encounter hassles or rejection. Grocery stores are usually pretty safe. They can work okay for semi-anonymous card purchases that might flag you to your credit card as a "credit risk" such as Walmart, Dollar Store, massage stores, fast food, etc. I have a credit card that returns 5% cashback at Office Supply stores, but lately am finding the $10 off $200 I save is not at all worth the time and stress hassle of babying these and playing the game to use them overall.

I used them to pay utility bills, which costs me easily 300-400 usd per month.

I see you completely removed your note. I added it to the wiki. Today, still no sign of them advertising this on their website. Do you now have some confirmation of it being valid for sure? What is your source? I have too long a drive to find out the hard way. Frown
Repped in advance.

It was on their webpage yesterday with old dates. Took the screenprint and updated the post accordingly. I still see it by clicking on original link->deals.

Those dates are from the future. April, 2026! Haha.
They have nothing up on the site at all today. One other deal site members posted a few success stories. Can't link or get into naming other deal sites here though. I hope it is not just regional for "not my region". I'll report back if no one else does, and I get sick of waiting.
