Do not buy this. Many report this was a horrible transfer with lots of compression artifacts.

I believe this is a Mill Creek product if I remember correctly and they are infamous for shoddy, lackluster releases.

Yes, avoid the Mill Creek releases. Amazon always does weird things with the reviews. They'll combine reviews for different releases so you never really know what's what.
The Mill Creek releases are notorious for poor picture quality, no extras, or subtitles.
I got lucky and found the Sony set on eBay for $14 and it was literally in mint condition. I don't think the discs had ever been played.

Granted, I've never seen this release and am only relaying what I've read about it.

I fully recognize a lot of people are hyper sensitive to any imperfections so it may very well be perfectly fine for most people.

Myself, I went for the Imprint release but it's significantly more expensive.

If you want good pq, get the old DVDs. The aspect ratio is correct, but the pq is bad. Opposite of the Bewitched seriess posted here recently. It like they do this on purpose. The Miami Vice Blu Ray on the other hand is near perfect in every way.

Just did a little research. If you look at the reviews, the majority of the good reviews seem to be older. The majority of the bad reviews are on the blu rays. I can't say for sure, but it looks like the Mill Creek releases use a lot of compression. Older DVDs sets are spread across 20 discs. The Mill Creek edition is only on 13. The blu rays probably are similar. Just my thoughts, for what they're worth.

Yikes. Thanks for this post. Here is a post from the Blu Ray forum comparing DVD and BR screenshots. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpos...stcount=28

Thank you for doing the legwork to back up my statement that I was too exhausted to do myself at the time. 🙂

Imprint recently released a Blu-ray set that does everything right, but the price is many times what this Mill Creek set is going for so it obviously isn't for everyone.

I just did exactly the same. Got the old Sony discs for around $25. Seasons 3-5 unopened and 100% feedback seller.
