Cool story. The Amazon basics are marked down to this price frequently and have a large selection of color combinations. I can't imagine they are much different in quality actually. Much easier to buy from Amazon imo.

I've not compared the two. For me, the issue with Amazon Basics is that the price is often different for each color and/or each size. So there may be a super slick deal on a blue plaid shirt in size M but the other colors and sizes cost more. For those who want to scope out Amazon Basics to find a deal on a shirt in a specific size and color, that's great. Maybe they'll luck out. But I think it's difficult to find Amazon Basics clothing deals for a wider audience (except accessories like socks and belts).

I actually go on Amazon on occasion and go through the colors and they are clearly marked and I scope out the cheaper ones to see if I like them. And many times there are additional coupons. I've paid max $10 and as low as $5 for the ones I've bought. And they are delivered to my door. If I don't like they are easy to return. IMO much easier than going into the mall or ordering to some threshold that gives free shipping. Also, I don't trust Macy delivery. They use Door Dash who is one of the shadiest companies I have dealt with. DD driver have the ability to just cancel orders on the day they are supposed to be delivered and all I got was a refund on an item I bought on deep sale and by then, the sale was over.

Costco on winter clearance sales will have flannels for $10 eventually . I used to buy weatherproof vintage ones. The orvis ones are a steal but its more like a shirt jacket
