I love this series, as well as the author's other series, "Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits".
For anyone who likes Dungeon Crawler Carl, I think you'll enjoy these series as well, they have a similar zany sense of humor.

Also available for $3 at Google play books, which I believe are DRM free exportable as pdfs or pubs, which imo is a much better option!

The first 4 books of this series are on sale for $2.99 each this month, likely to drum up interest for the 5th book slated for November 2026 release.

I got into the series from a sd post a few years ago.

Great books with lots of good silly humor.

There's also a movie based on the first book which is actually pretty good as well and kind of underated in my opinion.

I recently added a few of those Dungeon Crawler Carl books to my audible library and plan to get started soon. They sound great and right up my alley.

Another series/author that fits in the similar genre, that I really enjoyed, are the "Post Apocalyptic Nomadic Warrior" books by Benjamin Wallace. Fun adventures with plenty of good humor. His tagline, "even a mushroom cloud has a silver lining" kind of gives you an idea of the tone.

The John dies at the end series is hilarious. I can see the comparisons between them and the dungeon crawler Carl books. Both are excellent

Agreed, but even if they were bad I like his content enough that I think this is a good price point to support him regardless.

I'd just stay away from black box of doom, I didn't find that book enjoyable at all
I did not enjoy the humor and pacing in John dies at the end when I read it last year, but I did enjoy it when it first came out in 2007.
I think Jason Pargin learnt a lot after writing the first book. I actually didn't know that Jason Pargin = David Wong so I missed a lot of his books until recently
