Don't have it but at $90 it's hard to resist to upgrade my anbernic 35xx.

The Mangmi Air X stands out as a thin Android handheld that punches above its price for PSP, widescreen retro gaming, and lighter Android or PC titles. The 4 gigabytes of memory, larger higher resolution 16 by 9 screen, and active cooling make it feel more capable and more comfortable than many budget rivals, and the form factor gets praised as especially easy to pick up and play. Battery life for higher end games lands around 2 to 3 hours, and stronger alternatives around the same price can offer more raw performance. It is a versatile choice if widescreen play matters more than maximum horsepower.
people who want a widescreen 16:9 Android handheld for PSP and other systems because commenters say the larger higher-res 16:9 display is a key advantage for games that support it, and it's expected to be great for PSP while also playing most modern Android games.
retro handheld upgraders coming from an Anbernic 35XX because at around $90 it's described as a tempting upgrade and RetroGameCorps called it a top budget handheld of 2025.
Android emulation tinkerers who like exploring PS2/GC and PC games on a handheld because one owner says they're actively pushing the upper limits of PS2/GC emulation and also running PC games via GameHub/GameNative, valuing the versatility of the widescreen display.
buyers who want a pick-up-and-play "fun tech toy" experience instead of a more awkward phone+controller setup because one commenter tried a Moto G + controller route and said it wasn't fun to use and they never reach for it, while the Mangmi design made them use it for retro gaming more often.
people building a controller-case + gaming-frontend setup because a commenter paired it with a Gamesir X2 Pro in a controller-case setup and used Daijisho to replace the Android home screen, saying the larger screen also makes Switch emulation feel better.
buyers who are strictly chasing maximum performance per dollar because one commenter argues the Air X doesn't make sense at its price point since more powerful, functionally similar devices exist within about $10.
people who already own a lot of 4:3-focused handhelds and don't care about widescreen versatility because one owner says they already have more than enough devices that can play 4:3 games, and they're only willing to accept the compromises if the 16:9 versatility is worth it.

While I agree that it's totally fair to argue that something like the Anbernic RG406H provides that extra power I'm missing for a relatively small price increase... I already have more than enough devices that can play 4:3 games. At this level of performance & price, I'm just not willing to sacrifice the versatility of a widescreen display.
As soon as we get something around the $100 price point that can do GC/PS2 emulation well but ALSO has a 16:9 display for the myriad things that a handheld this powerful can do (widescreen hacks, PSP, DS/3DS, native Android games, and PC games) I'll be all over it. That's probably not too far off the horizon, but until then, I think the Mangmi Air X is still the best price/performance value.

That said, I did this exactly (with that $24 Moto G from Wal-Mart this past holiday season) and even though performance is slightly better than something like the Mangmi Air X... it's just no fun to use and I never find myself reaching for it. It's more cumbersome and unwieldy, whereas the design of the Mangmi is just a delight. It feels like a fun tech toy, in the best possibly way, that makes you want to hold and play with it. It's a frictionless, pick-up-and-play experience, and I find I'm doing all of my retro gaming on it lately, even in the presence of "superior" options.
I know that's kind of an intangible benefit that you can't really put a monetary value on, but... there's a reason people prefer these little handhelds.

The screen size on the Mangmi is much bigger. I love switch emulation, and smaller screen sizes don't do it justice.
