The Mangmi Air X stands out as a thin Android handheld that punches above its price for PSP, widescreen retro gaming, and lighter Android or PC titles. The 4 gigabytes of memory, larger higher resolution 16 by 9 screen, and active cooling make it feel more capable and more comfortable than many budget rivals, and the form factor gets praised as especially easy to pick up and play. Battery life for higher end games lands around 2 to 3 hours, and stronger alternatives around the same price can offer more raw performance. It is a versatile choice if widescreen play matters more than maximum horsepower.
The Air X can deliver a frictionless pick-up-and-play retro experience when paired with a controller setup and a gaming frontend.
The 16:9 widescreen design supports PSP well and also helps with versatility for widescreen hacks and native Android games.
The device includes active cooling, which can help sustain performance during longer gaming sessions.
Anecdotal battery expectations land around 2-3 hours for higher-end PSP-and-up gameplay, with everyday drain comparable to a Powkiddy X55.
The Air X may not make sense at its price because more powerful, functionally similar handhelds can exist within roughly a $10 range.
The Air X can be viewed as an upgraded Trimui Smart Pro rather than a major performance step up for the money.
Battery life can be limited to about 2-3 hours for higher-end PSP-and-up gameplay, which may feel short for extended sessions.
Android-focused alternatives like a Moto G plus controller setup can be more cumbersome and less enjoyable to use than the Air X.

How is the battery life? Abneric ones run own OS, this one is Android. Not sure if its better or not.

Frankly I just don't get the popular retro handheld YT chancels sycophanting certain brands (and the Reddit hivemind that echoes their ever word). They'll endlessly praise something like this but nearly ruined the RG DS (before it even launched), mainly for the fact it wasn't the most powerful device within a price point...yet this is excused for not being. The RG DS actually being a different beast to anything else out there, this on the other hand is merely an upgraded Trimui Smart Pro....the hundred and first horizontal handheld that can play up to PSP....wow.
Do I want a Mangmi Air X, sure. Does it make sense to buy, not really unless thinness over the RG406H is worth losing a huge amount of performance or if the upgraded screen over the Trimui Smart Pro is worth an extra $30+ (Android support is a major upside though).
