Even with new email, names, phones, and even swap between main account with 2nd free members.
Maybe with different physical address (Sons, daughters in college but don't add 2nd free members (that associate with Costco in the last 18 moths (even already canceled and no longer have memberships but still less than 18 months period).
Costco won't send any Costco Shop Card.
Also, when go to local Costco Card, associate put in ID, or address (if the same) and the system will pickup existing name/address that associate with the ID.
Sam's is much easier and has been working just fine but NOT COSTCO!
Wait until you're in the final month of your membership and politely say "I'd like a refund on the membership. I'm not satisfied with the manner in which Costco has failed to honor the signup incentive/promotion and the time I've spent over the course of the membership trying to get it resolved. As the membership is now about to expire and it's still not resolved after several promises that it would be, I have no choice but to seek a refund at this point"
They tried to see if they could issue me some sort of gift card on the spot but they couldn't and then just refunded the cost of the membership within a minute or so.

Also, beware of the Costco Visa Credit Card rewards fine print: They issue your "cash back" reward only once a year (after your February statement), and you must have an active Costco membership at that time to receive it. If you let your Costco membership lapse before then, you lose all accumulated "cash back" immediately.
It's up to you to double-check that you actually get the gift card after several weeks!
Then it says Buy Membership. It doesnt offer to Renew my Membership.
I guess if it doesnt work I can cancel.
Only the member with the phone app can't go in the store and only can buy gas?

Thanks for the reply! I haven't been a Costco member in over 5 years and only had gone there a few times when I did have that 1 year membership so really out of touch with goings on over there. I just purchased the membership. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get my $45 promo card as it's been over 5 years since I was a member.
For those that received their $45 promo card, where you a previous member over 18 months ago? Also, is the only way to use the $45 promo credit through your phone or Costco app when checking out or is there any way to get it transferred to a physical Shop Card? TIA

That's really disappointing to hear. It's the only reason I signed up for membership. I'll probably just cancel my membership and ask for a refund in a few weeks if I don't receive the promo. Thanks for the reply!
