This 49 inch Acer Nitro is a super ultrawide built for gaming and media, with enough width to run three windows side by side and still keep them usable. The 5120 by 1440 layout feels like two 27 inch WQHD displays joined together, so it offers lots of horizontal space but only 27 inch 16 by 9 worth of vertical height. The VA panel draws criticism at this price, especially versus IPS or mini LED alternatives, and the extra width does not add much for every game. A solid fit if the ultrawide format is the main appeal.
Common Questions (5)
Many 49" super-ultrawides support dual-screen modes such as dual 16:9 or 21:9 plus 11:9, and some models also support picture-by-picture. For this Acer, multi-input support is not confirmed in the comments, so it may not split into three separate inputs.
The VA panel is a major drawback at this price, especially if you are sensitive to ghosting. Alternatives such as the MPG 491 CQPX, IPS models, or mini-LED options are cited as better value for a similar size, resolution, and refresh rate.
It behaves like two 27" 1440p monitors side by side, so it can fit three usable windows/apps across the screen. The downside is that its pixels-per-dollar is poor for basic productivity compared with smaller or higher-value alternatives.
The extra width is mainly useful for immersion and wider field of view, not extra height; the vertical space is still about the same as a 27" 16:9 display. It is most compelling for games that benefit from a very wide aspect ratio rather than for every title.
Super-ultrawides can work on Macs, and a resolution-unlock trick plus a free app can expose more display modes in MacOS. That makes getting the monitor running on a Mac feasible without major issues.

Edit: I should also mention on sale it is the same price as this
Another edit: When I see tear free gaming, I think tear as in crying instead of tear as in ripping

Like divvying up the space for 3 input sources at the same time? 1/3 Roku input, 1/3 pc desktop, 1/3 laptop input ?

In Dec 2024, there was a deal on the same monitor for just under $500. It was via the Samsung website, pretty time limited, and required a few hoops to jump through (ID.me discount, Capital One discount, chatting with a rep for extra discount).
I avoid VA monitors like the plague due to ghosting, though maybe it isn't as much of an issue if the monitor is 240 Hz?

While I don't always run the two-input mode from the same computer, if you present a lot in PowerPoint and want presenter mode to work properly, you need to run two video outputs from the same PC to the single monitor and set it to multi-input mode. Not sure why MS still has such a shitty PowerPoint implementation on Ultrawide Monitors, but they do.
