I replaced the casters on my chair with the single roller blade wheels. Are the dual wheels better?

If you have high pile carpet the single roller wheels will chew it up over time and the dual wheels will not. Aside from that its user preference. :-)

I think the wheels are 2'' on the dual vs 3" on the single. Does that make any difference?

I got the single blade used like new for close to the same price. I won't see much of a benefit with a dual blade!

The dual wheel design spreads the pressure over two points instead of one. It's makes no difference on carpet, but spreading the load over more points on laminate floor will help prevent creating gaps between the planks.

Got these last year thinking the extra wheel would disperse the weight better absolutely hated them. Much harder to push myself around compared to the roller blade ones I have been using for years. I have a little metal strip that separates the linoleum from the flat carpet side of the room and that became a huge obstacle with these. The box claims they are silent but I found them to be really loud on the linoleum. Used them for a few days before I took them off and put the roller blades back on so much better. I paid $14.99 which was the regular price in Oct 2025.

To me yes the smaller wheels seemed to be harder to push around , the room threshold that I can glide right over with the 3in wheel became a major obstacle with these. Had them on for three days before I took them off and replaced with the old worn out roller blade ones which despite there age were still better than these .

This is exactly what happened to my laminate floors in my basement. Single rollerblade wheels messed up some sections.
