2026 and folks still buying dvds is so wild to me. Friday gets a 4K UHD release this year and I'm sure the other two are not far behind.

I understand that DVD is a dated/inferior format, but a movie like Friday isn't exactly visual splendor or something that would utilize Atmos sound. I think a DVD is fine for a basic comedy like this.

Exactly! The "old" media is part of the movie's charm. It's not like it's a VHS tape.

Hmm. If they had continued making these movies, and calling each one "Friday the 2nd", "Friday the 3rd", "Friday the 4th", etc., on up to the 13th iteration.... I wonder if they would have been able to get away with calling that one "Friday the 13th" ????
