I like my gen13 I got late last year. The OLED display is sweet. Battery life gets me through most of the workday which is good enough. Finished up my grad thesis on it and did a little bit of 3D modeling. It replaced an OG X1 Nano that was struggling and I was having some issues with. It's been tumbling around in my backpack for the better part of a year and looks almost new.

I missed the similar deal back in December, been watching out ever since. I just ordered the OLED version with the extra $100 off on AmEx Plat. Thanks!

Not sure of the hotness of this deal - this exact model was $1,119 from Lenovo in December. This exact model is also being sold on Amazon by a (good) 3P seller for $1,585 (and if you have an Amazon card you can get another 5% off of that).

Yes it is. Of all the laptops (ultralight, regular, workstations) I use, I most frequently pull an older X1 Carbon.

If I'm spending this much, I'd rather wait for the newer gen models

Why is a $1600 U-series laptop with a 1200p 60Hz IPS screen a good deal?

The OLED one is 120hz and about the same price. Check the other link in the post.

I see that now. So, the non-OLED version really isn't that great a deal then!
