Heads up, while this model is listed as Easymesh compatible, making this a pretty sexy option for cheap mesh, the fine print on the Linksys website notes this feature is unavailable on the US version.

I've been using a Netgear WNDR3700 for 15 years. Seems like a better brand.

2 years ago, I purchased Linksys LN1301 router on Woot. It's still working good and signal strong. So I saw these Linksys router onsale very cheap. I go ahead get "E9450 router". I just set it up and test. The signal is so WEAK. My computer is 20 feet away from the router, but I received only 1 bar. Now, I know why they are so cheap.

Quote from Aim2Learn :
If you want to flash the latest OpenWrt they say you have to use UBI partition as its more secure and fixes ECC NAND problems that the router originally had. Thus according to OpenWRT wiki, UBI is more secure and makes the router's NAND last longer. Only down side is going back to factory stock requires BACKING UP the original flash/bootchain and knowledge of using a Serial/Jtag via a TTL adapter which they have directions to.
Assuming you have no intention of going back to factory firmware the directions to convert to UBI and install OpenWRT from factory Linksys firmware is as follows:
1) Login to the router. Go to ADMINISTRATION > FIRMWARE UPGRADE
2) Make sure your router is at least on Linksys Firmware Version 1.1.01.272918 or higher
3) If running stock firmware < 1.2.00.273012, upload flash the UNSIGNED INSTALLER image: openwrt-...-mediatek-mt7622-linksys_e8450-ubi-initramfs-recovery-installer.itb
Otherwise, if stock firmware is >= 1.2.00.273012, upload flash the SIGNED INSTALLER image: openwrt-...-mediatek-mt7622-linksys_e8450-ubi-initramfs-recovery-installer_signed.itb
Downloads are at https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/ and choose "Linksys E8450 UBI" (DO NOT CHOOSE "Linksys E8450") make sure it says UBI
4) After flashing the router will automatically reboot after flashing.
5) Login again, and upload the openwrt "sysupgrade" v24 or higher file and Uncheck "Keep settings and retain the current configuration"
6) Router should automatically reboot and your done.
7) All future upgrades should only need "sysupgrade" for "Linksys E8450 UBI"
I received mine today, and it has firmware 1.1.00.180912. I connected it to internet and got up to 1.1.01.272918. When I try to upgrade with openwrt-25.12.0-mediatek-mt7622-linksys_e8450-ubi-initramfs-recovery.itb, I get "The image is incorrect." Then.. Flashed with signed. That worked. Installed 24.10.0

I just got E9450 WiFi 6 router. How do i configure such that IP address is automatically from ISP, but DNS is what I want to configure (Google or Cloudfare, etc.) How do I restrict the MTU size?

I can't use strongswan vpn app on Android (IKEv2 EAP). It won't connect to vpn on my galaxy phone. It works like a charm on my Netgear WiFi5 router. What gives? VPN passthrough is enabled.

Linksys app won't even find the router. So can't use the app for better router configuration. WebGUI is not that great compared to my Netgear gui interface.

When I log into my router (192.168.1.1), it says AC1200 E9450 instead of AX5400 E9450. What does your router information show? Seems like they have sent me a lemon.
