Decent CPU for chrome, 8GB RAM, actual ssd for storage, decent screen, Acceptable webcam.
Ports looks like 2 USB-A, 2 USB-C, 1 HDMI and 1 headphones port.
Touchscreen and backlit keyboard are nice to have, but not critical.
If you know what you're looking for you can find similar Chromebooks with slightly lower spec (CPU, SSD size, screen) for around $120-150 if you're willing to buy used instead of certified refurbished.
Up To you to decide if the extra $40-60 is worth it for a 2 year warranty and a better spec Chromebook.
If you think that this Chromebook will be well cared for, then this is a good deal.
If you think that this Chromebook will be dropped, lost or broken in the next year, I'd save some $$ and buy used.

This refurbished Acer Chromebook Plus 514 stands out as a capable school and everyday laptop with an i3 N305, 8GB of memory, a 512GB SSD, a good screen, and a decent webcam. The touchscreen, backlit keyboard, USB C charging, and long battery life add to its appeal, and the ChromeOS update support runs through June 2033. It also looks clean for a refurb, with reports of brand new chargers and even zero battery cycles. The main caution is that it is plastic and only opens to 180 degrees, so it feels less premium than a convertible. A solid compact Chromebook if you want stronger specs and long support.
school Chromebook shoppers for a teen or college student because the i3-N305, 8GB RAM, and 512GB SSD plus a decent screen/webcam fit well for ChromeOS day-to-day, and the 2-year warranty can be worth the extra $40-60 versus similar used options.
families buying Chromebooks for kids because one buyer reports getting a certified refurbished unit that looked brand new with 0 battery cycles and a touchscreen that still feels decent for the price.
buyers who want long ChromeOS support for school/work because this model is scheduled for automatic updates until June 2033, which makes it easier to plan for years of use.
people who want to tinker with Linux on a Chromebook because commenters note you can use Linux development mode, and this specific listing's 512GB SSD avoids the common storage limit seen on many Chromebooks.
teens who want light gaming and media at school because one commenter says it runs Minecraft/Roblox smoothly and credits the not-bad iGPU along with the good screen, fast CPU, and big SSD.
home users who need a portable, easy-to-charge Chromebook because a commenter says it has long battery life and USB-C charging is convenient for around the house, couch, and travel (and they even remote into a Mac mini for heavier work).
buyers who are unsure about end-of-life/update cutoff for school use because one commenter specifically asked whether it will stop receiving updates and "won't work with schools" after the end of life.
shoppers expecting a full 360° convertible touchscreen because one buyer notes the touchscreen only opens 180° (not a 360° flip) even though it's a touchscreen.
buyers who want to rely on the listing title being accurate because commenters warn the eBay page may omit the word "Plus" in the title even when the item description/lid photo shows it, so you need to verify the exact model naming.
buyers who need battery health guarantees from the seller because one commenter says Acer eBay couldn't provide battery health for the refurbished unit (though they confirmed a battery replacement option).

Very good hardware and probably the only weakness is the memory but 8GB on linus/chrome os is not the same as on win11.

Specifically, I asked about the battery health. For a refurbished laptop/chromebook, the battery would be degraded. I asked the health of the battery and the replacement option. They could not tell me the battery heath, but they confirmed the replacement option by the customer. They are not responsible to replace the battery.
Finally, I placed order for this chromebook. It turned out the battery is excellent. Later, after my old laptop was damaged, I purchased refurbished laptop from them. The battery is also in good health. No complain from the 2 purchases from them.
