Decent CPU for chrome, 8GB RAM, actual ssd for storage, decent screen, Acceptable webcam.
Ports looks like 2 USB-A, 2 USB-C, 1 HDMI and 1 headphones port.
Touchscreen and backlit keyboard are nice to have, but not critical.
If you know what you're looking for you can find similar Chromebooks with slightly lower spec (CPU, SSD size, screen) for around $120-150 if you're willing to buy used instead of certified refurbished.
Up To you to decide if the extra $40-60 is worth it for a 2 year warranty and a better spec Chromebook.
If you think that this Chromebook will be well cared for, then this is a good deal.
If you think that this Chromebook will be dropped, lost or broken in the next year, I'd save some $$ and buy used.

This refurbished Acer Chromebook Plus 514 stands out as a capable school and everyday laptop with an i3 N305, 8GB of memory, a 512GB SSD, a good screen, and a decent webcam. The touchscreen, backlit keyboard, USB C charging, and long battery life add to its appeal, and the ChromeOS update support runs through June 2033. It also looks clean for a refurb, with reports of brand new chargers and even zero battery cycles. The main caution is that it is plastic and only opens to 180 degrees, so it feels less premium than a convertible. A solid compact Chromebook if you want stronger specs and long support.
The Chromebook Plus is scheduled for ChromeOS automatic updates until June 2033, which supports long-term school use.
The certified refurbished unit can arrive looking brand new with zero battery cycles, which reduces early-condition risk.
The device can support Linux development mode, and the 512GB SSD helps avoid common Chromebook storage limits.
The Chromebook Plus can run Minecraft and Roblox smoothly for a teen, which supports everyday entertainment needs.
The touchscreen can open only 180 degrees instead of a full 360 flip, which limits viewing angles.
The listing naming can be confusing because the eBay product page may omit the word "Plus" even when the item description shows it.
A battery replacement option may exist, but Acer eBay may not be responsible for replacing degraded battery health on refurbished units.
The Chromebook's 8GB memory may be a likely weakness, and 8GB on ChromeOS can behave differently than 8GB on Windows.

Very good hardware and probably the only weakness is the memory but 8GB on linus/chrome os is not the same as on win11.

Specifically, I asked about the battery health. For a refurbished laptop/chromebook, the battery would be degraded. I asked the health of the battery and the replacement option. They could not tell me the battery heath, but they confirmed the replacement option by the customer. They are not responsible to replace the battery.
Finally, I placed order for this chromebook. It turned out the battery is excellent. Later, after my old laptop was damaged, I purchased refurbished laptop from them. The battery is also in good health. No complain from the 2 purchases from them.
