Pretty weak offering honestly, the only perk that will be easily used by most flyers is the 500LP for each segment. So you get 1000LP for a typical round trip to let, which helps, but it has to be booked between day of register and end of April. That means all my previously booked flights flying during this time won't earn this bonus. ....yeah

It's really dumb that they won't count the trips that are already booked so you have to cancel and rebook. Marriott promotions like this still give you the extra points for the pre-booked stays as long as the stay falls within the qualified period.

Free miles are great. Too bad I don't have any trips planned during March or April.

Kind of a crap deal when you must book new flights. I have five trips planned in the next six weeks, but I booked them well ahead of time to get decent fares. Offering extra miles over the peak spring break period only if you book within a couple weeks of your trip is not much of an offer. This will work out for the weekly business flyers.

This is Loyalty Points, not miles.

That's the point. It's an incentive for you to give up your cheaper tickets for a pricier one just for the artificial value of points. This = more $ to report to shareholders, and you know there will be people who do it.

Dumb? Or smart? Like if your job was to squeeze as much money out of the customer to feed the always hungry shareholders, this feels like a genius move. Give that person a promotion! /s

Have to say that the redemption options are a bit weak. The minimum to redeem is 15,000 Loyalty Points for these:
  • Personalized limited-edition centennial luggage tag
  • 1,000 Loyalty Points
  • Priority privileges and Group 4 boarding for a trip
  • 5 Preferred Seat coupons
  • Coming soon: 2 inflight food and beverage coupons on flights where service is offered
  • Coming soon: 12-month New York Times subscription to your choice of Games, Cooking or The Athletic
The other redemptions are 60,000-400,000 LP so really only helpful for very frequent flyers or those traveling for business.

Really dumb indeed but unsurprising. This is so they can measure 'incrementality' internally.
