Same as last week's frontpage deal, but now includes a free 27" monitor instead of a 24" monitor.

If it's anything like the G9, it wants to be an entertainment hub. It can have apps, BT, WiFi, TV, etc.

I've been using a 32" 4K Alienware OLED for the last two years and 0 burn in. It's used for work during the day and for gaming at night. I keep the Windows taskbar enabled as well Smilie YMMV of course, but burn-in isn't as commong as it once was.

no, you just dont notice the burn in.

burn in is more common now. (probably worse than burn in is the increasingly intrusive measures they take to stop the inevitable, I believe unwanted screen dimming etc is a real known bug/problem on these very samsungs)

They used to say that about plasma TVs. I still have my 2011 Panasonic Viera, now moved to my room, with 600 hz refresh rate, and no burn in. Plasma was superior to any LCDs or LEDs. Only problem, they didn't produced any 4k. But still today, mainstream large screen TV can't do more that 120hz refresh rate. Some do 144, but nothing like plasma. It is a shame they didn't do more research on that tech.

So is the 27" just ewaste that Samsung is trying to get rid of? Or is the use case with OLED to have a secondary monitor?

I have a primary oled 32" and then 2x secondary ips 27's that I use for my static sites (youtube/twitch, a browser that almost never changes, slack and discord).

I went from the 34 wide to the 32 4k and like the 32 4k but that's because I console game as well. The higher quality image is nice, but I have a gpu that can also run it. generally I think this is the sweet spot - especially if they have a higher resolution someday.
