512GB has Touch ID, base 256GB doesn't FYI. Probably worth the extra $100

Me personally i would just get a lightly used m4 for only a little bit more. Especially with m5 out u can find a lot of good deals on used m4. Better design more ram faster ect

I laugh when I see Windows laptops still being sold with 4gb ram. This with only 8 in this day and age from Apple is pretty funny too.

Any good legit sites for that? I've been looking around but can't seem to find anything that's trustworthy.

"Had"
The SSD probably has died since then due to the constant swapping.
For those who buy the MacBook Neo, make sure you get the 512 GB version and do over-provisioning to help it last a little longer.
They had it and got a larger one due to the small screen.

I haven't heard of any widespread issues with SSD's dying on any of the Macs, even with 8GB of RAM.

Way overpriced. Used M1/M2/M3/M4 any day over this.
Used being the keyword. No warranty and fewer software updates on the M1 and M2.

Ebay, amazon warehouse, even local fb market place. I personally bought a used 15" m4 air 24gb 512gb for 800. Had like two very small nicks but other than that no complaints

8GB memory capped in 2026? USB 2.0 ports? This is a joke right?

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank caveman017

For anyone complaining about the specs, this will likely run circles around anything else that's new in the $5-600 price range when looking at the complete package and last a lot longer. Yeah, 8GB of RAM and no backlit keyboard is a bummer, but for the intended use which will be mostly web browsing and word processing, it's more than enough.

The intended audience here is those who were considering getting a Chromebook or a cheap entry-level Windows laptop. Not those running LLMs, doing a bunch of photo editing, development work etc.

My wife has had a base M1 MacBook Air for 4-5 years now and it does everything she needs it to do. Single core on this is significantly better then the M1, with better battery life and longer support to boot.

If you need more power, then you know you'll need more power and this isn't the device for you.
