The description says that it plugs into a 9-pin USB header. You'll need a spare USB header in your computer for you to have your temps displayed.

Peerless Assassin 120 is great. The Peerless Assassin 140 is even better. If you really want to step it up, get the Royal Pretor 130. Just be aware that these are very large and fairly tall coolers. So you may want to ensure the width of your case is large enough to support cpu coolers that are as tall as the Pretor 130 and Assassin 140. Your case's technical specs should state the maximum cooler height that the case supports.

Is this functionally the same as the Peerless Assassin 120 SE? I just noticed this one doesn't gave the SE designation. I just bought a Refined Assassin X120 SE for my 7600X3D build but wonder about returning that for this at this price point. Might be overkill but also more future proof.

i would stay with what you got, as it's more than enough to keep your 105w cpu under 95C throttle range.

This appears to be one of the best Air Coolers out there. Going to check Noctua and if this is cheaper I am going to bite as I am building a system now.

It's the software, there's nothing built in that can read either the CPU or GPU

Curious - how does the software communicate the temperatures to the cooler? I mean, the only connection these have is the 4-pin fan connector on the board. Or is that not right?

Thanks dude, your suggestions helped me to get the Royal Pretor 130 which is on sale on Amazon now....just purchased it after reading the stellar reviews. Building a 9800X3D system and want something pretty solid.... appreciate it!

Any of those heatsinks are plenty for something like a 7800x3d.

If a CPU is at ~90c or less at full load it's fine.
