doesn't this service only kick in if you connect the monitor to the internet? Pretty easy to ensure this never happens

Actually my 32" isnt invasive at all. Once I set it up to my gpu in my pc, havent had to deal with the smart whatever.
Its useless for my case.

27 4k isn't the best at all. At least 32. 34 is best imo.

You are incorrect, increasing the screen size only lowers your pixel density for a given resolution. Granted, it is a matter of preference, but most desks are not deep enough to provide enough viewing distance to compensate. I don't like to stare at massive pixels. 34" also isn't generally offered in 16:9, so you are talking about an entirely different type of product. Standard 16:9 ratio sizes are 24", 27", 32" only.

It really is a preference thing.
I have a 32" 4K monitor, and, even at licking distance, where I can no longer see the whole screen, the pixel pitch isn't enough for me to be able to actually see individual pixels (I just shoved my face right into it a second ago to double-check).
But what you are used to can have a real impact - I recently bought my mom a new 32" monitor to go with the new desktop I had built for her, thinking it might be a beneficial upgrade from her 24", since her eyesight isn't getting any better. But after I unpacked it, her reaction was that it was way too big for her for where it would sit on her desk. Ended up having to return it for a 27".
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just FYI, according to Rtings.com, this is apparently a completely different display model from the 32" version:

These G70D deals just ain't it man. The G70F deal was $200 with EDU and even lower if you used Honey or had Samsung points. It also didn't come with their TV OS which is a positive for some. At this price it's worth it to spend another 10% and get a QD-OLED from AOC or save a bit more and wait for a Mini-LED deal. The panel technology makes far more of a difference to perceived image quality than the resolution imo....
