I have a previous version of this model. If you don't mind the weight or poor battery life it's a very capable productivity machine. Solidworks, Autocad, g-code software and several tabs open and it doesn't hesitate. It's 3 years old. As long as this cpu isn't one of the Intel problem children this looks like a great deal.

bought it, and quickly returning it.
Off center keyboard sucks more than I expected. Laptop chasis is really thick, with no slope or bevel on the front edge, making it really uncomfortable in the wrist area, especially if wearing a watch.

performance is fine.
connectivity is pretty good
screen is nice, and speakers are good.

The back of the screen is very slick, and there's no good handholds, so you will need to use both hands to pick it up off a table. it's not the weight, which is also significant. There's just no good way to one-handed scoop this thing.

Not sure how much I'll hate the fake trackpoint buttons, but ordered the Thinkpad T1g Gen 8 slickdeal as a replacement.
