One minor PSA, however, this light runs a VERY customizable and feature rich firmware (all controlled by a single button, with various long-press, delay-press, multi-presses ) to activate an elaborate menu of features. (https://wurkkos.com/u_file/2506/2...250519.pdf)
While flexible it can be confusing if you're not used to it and just want a flashlight that turns on and off. It's very easy to put it into moonlight mode and conclude the battery is dead. If you start mashing the button and end up putting it into an unwanted mode.
Mentioning this because it could cause a problem in an emergency situation or if you have users not aware of this (like my wife who never met a button that didn't work better after being pressed 10 times in anger).
If you're changing a tire in the rain and someone accidentally puts the light into "breathing RGB Moonlight" mode, you're not going to be happy. Triple-pressing in particular takes you down several one-way rabbit holes, I'd avoid it if you don't have the manual memorized.
I've made peace with it, but I highly recommend memorizing the pattern for Unlock/reset at a minimum. (3 quick presses). That will take you back to start.

Wurkkos HD03 is a compact clip on flashlight that stands out for its bright output, flexible modes, and handy collar or jacket carry. The light is praised as great for walking, with a simple tap and hold approach for brightness and a well written manual. The warm white version is rated at 5000K and feels more neutral than warm, while the standard 680 lumen cold white emitter is low CRI. The main drawback is the single button menu, which can be confusing and easy to mis set in a hurry, and it may be too heavy for shirt pockets. A useful little light if you want versatility more than simplicity.
people who want a clip-on light for jacket pockets because it's "probably too heavy for a polo or regular shirt pocket" but works well in jacket pockets.
dog walkers who just need a simple walking light because one commenter says they didn't need the color modes and uses the simplest control (tap once, then tap-and-hold to reach brightness).
buyers who are okay memorizing the button behavior because the single-button, highly customizable firmware can be confusing and users recommend memorizing the unlock/reset pattern (3 quick presses) to avoid getting stuck in unwanted modes.
people who want to clip it into polo or regular T-shirt pockets because multiple commenters say the front weight is too much and would sag the pocket.
people who want a flashlight that's basically on/off without learning modes because the many modes controlled by one button are "really confusing to remember," and it's easy to end up in low modes like moonlight and think the battery is dead.
buyers who need reliable operation in an emergency without button-memorization because commenters warn that accidental mode switching (e.g., during a tire change in the rain) can put the light into an unwanted mode unless you know the unlock/reset pattern.
buyers specifically chasing high-CRI output because one commenter says the standard 680-lumen cold-white emitter is low CRI and only the "320 lumen max" warm-white flood LED has the higher CRI claim.

now I am thinking about a cardboard insert to the pocket... then I am thinking, I have tons of other small flashlights that I could use and there is no reason to buy another.... (what goes on in my brain when I see things like this)

Simplest usage is tap once to turn on, then tap and hold again until it reaches the brightness level you want, it jumps up in steps (after the default brightness it gets extremely bright). It doesn't remember the last mode (unless theres an option to turn that on) which is good and bad, it means you can just revert to the regular default light every time u want to use it even if you were switched into one of the more in depth modes last.

EDIT: Just check and promo code only takes off 20%. So yes without coupon also seems to be dead.
