This RIDGID 18V eight tool combo is a solid starter kit for new homeowners or DIY projects, especially if you want a broad cordless setup without paying for premium brushless tools. The kit is described as brushed, but it still gets credit for strong value, lighter subcompact drill driver size, and RIDGID's lifetime coverage when registered. The batteries and tools are also described as holding up well over years of heavy use. The main cautions are the registration requirement for lifetime coverage, the fact that LSA is not the same as a warranty, and the circular saw and charger may not be the standout pieces. A practical budget bundle if you want to build out a tool collection.
Ridgid coverage can include lifetime service terms when registration requirements are met.
The kit can work well as a starter set for new homeowners and DIY projects around the house.
Long-term use reportedly kept the tools and batteries running strong after heavy use.
The non-brushless design may be acceptable for budget-focused DIY buyers who do not need premium brushless performance.
The tools are not brushless, which can limit expectations for power and battery life versus brushless models.
Lifetime coverage can require registration within a short window, and lifetime terms are not the same as a warranty.
The kit may be missing a flashlight, which can reduce convenience for darker work areas.
The charger can fail quickly when registration is not completed, which can disrupt charging availability.

Ridgid warranty has been good to me the one time I used it, but you need to remember to register it or you do not get lifetime. The lifetime is not a warranty per se based on some technicality. So just register everything.

If you're just starting out and need a variety of tools this is a great value to let you figure out what your needs may actually be. You very well might find out you simply dont need battery tools for something and prefer the high power corded versions so you don't fuss with batteries running out.

I've been using Lithium Ion power tools for 20 years now for all kinds of home projects and none of them have ever broken. I've had two batteries fail due to a bad Ryobi charger. That's it. My Bosch drill and batteries are still going strong nearly 20 years later, as are a Craftsman cordless electric mower, like a dozen Ryobi tools and random other stuff.
