This RIDGID 18V eight tool combo is a solid starter kit for new homeowners or DIY projects, especially if you want a broad cordless setup without paying for premium brushless tools. The kit is described as brushed, but it still gets credit for strong value, lighter subcompact drill driver size, and RIDGID's lifetime coverage when registered. The batteries and tools are also described as holding up well over years of heavy use. The main cautions are the registration requirement for lifetime coverage, the fact that LSA is not the same as a warranty, and the circular saw and charger may not be the standout pieces. A practical budget bundle if you want to build out a tool collection.

  • Ridgid coverage can include lifetime service terms when registration requirements are met.

  • The kit can work well as a starter set for new homeowners and DIY projects around the house.

  • Long-term use reportedly kept the tools and batteries running strong after heavy use.

  • The non-brushless design may be acceptable for budget-focused DIY buyers who do not need premium brushless performance.

  • The tools are not brushless, which can limit expectations for power and battery life versus brushless models.

  • Lifetime coverage can require registration within a short window, and lifetime terms are not the same as a warranty.

  • The kit may be missing a flashlight, which can reduce convenience for darker work areas.

  • The charger can fail quickly when registration is not completed, which can disrupt charging availability.

I'm a contractor and I have plenty of brushed cordless tools that still work great. The top tier bands (above Ryobi) will have plenty of power.

Brushless value is very low. In a nutshell they will break fast, light use only.
You sound like you don't know how to take care of your tools. Good luck with living like that.

No question- just a statement. They do have a lifetime warranty.
Not to be pedantic but you get a 3 year warranty no matter what. And then if you had registered within 90 days of purchase you get LSA for 'life'. LSA is not a warranty, which means you have less legal rights

Make sure you check back that the took is marked 'LSA' and take a screenshot for your records

Nice set. Bought similar as first set starting out. Ive beaten the heck out of them over the years and all still running strong including batteries. Never been too fond of the circular saw. It comes in handy if u need a wireless but its never been my go to. The charger died fairly quickly and I never registered it but no regrats

Yes, it was the first thing I checked because apparently it is a big difference. I didn't know they still made brushed tools but I always check.

Ridgid warranty has been good to me the one time I used it, but you need to remember to register it or you do not get lifetime. The lifetime is not a warranty per se based on some technicality. So just register everything.
Yeah- really it's a lifetime service agreement, but either way you get your tool repaired or an equivalent to replace it - still a pretty good offer
