Why would you think about getting a 280Hz 1440p OLED for a secondary browsing monitor?

I just bought this from Costco. I'm not impressed at all and want to return it! Any and all text is hard to read, it just doesn't render fonts/characters clearly. Text is a chore to read on this monitor. And then the biggest issue, brightness is very weak even at the max setting. And for some reason after 2~3 hours of RE requiem it always wants to restart. I would not recommend that this at all.

I have no issue with text but I use a different setup for work and use this monitor for gaming/media. I'm using this monitor right now and not having issues apart from smaller text going from 1080 to 1440.

I'm using this on my desk with a fluorescent ceiling light immediately above and have no issue with brightness even with the light on - it's plenty bright in the dark.

The monitor is OLED and has pixel refresh to prevent image burn-in. You can turn it off in the settings - menu - system - image retention refresh and make sure to use a screen saver or turn it off and hopefully it never becomes an issue.

I'm happy at this price point coming from a 1080 IPS and upgrading to a 1440 OLED.

I've never seen a better case of User Error.

I own two of these monitors and do not have this issue at all. You may need to calibrate your Windows clear type text settings:

To calibrate text in Windows 10/11 for better sharpness, search for and open "Adjust ClearType text" in the Start menu, ensure "Turn on ClearType" is checked, and follow the on-screen prompts to select the best-looking text samples.

This process tunes font rendering to match your monitor.

OLED's are notorious for bad text clarity outside of gaming so I wouldn't do that. Needing 280Hz just for browsing is overkill too.

This is a monitor not a TV. Reflective screens are horrible and distracting for a computer monitor.
