15oz kidney beans $0.90
8oz rice ~$0.50 (weight cooked increases with water)
herbs
2.5 pounds of food for $1.75.
Or you can pay $1.10 here for much less.

I do dried beans in the instant pot so $1 for an lb and they bulk up even more 🤤

I was figuring .06 cents an ounce for rice (cooks much bigger), .20 for an ounce of dry beans, some spices and misc - about half the price of this. Same difference. Thanks for posting.

We have rice and beans all the time, but we buy it by itself, instead of pre packaged stuff. Healthier, cheaper, we know what goes in it.

It's not any easier at all. Also, the package suggests adding cooked meat to it, and cooking meat is harder.

The serving size on the box (not see-able on the amazon site!) is 4.5 servings and 170 calories a serving. That's not enough for a meal, you really have to add something, and that something is most of the trouble of the meal.

Buying rice and beans in bulk will save you a lot of trouble, and it's just as easy to cook them yourself as buying a prepackaged small box. You can buy it all the way from 1 lb to 8 lbs easier and all types of other sizes. Really basic ingredients for cooking.

Also, why the heck is "flour" listed as the third ingredient in this?

Much less.. QUALITY, at the very least compared to making it fresh.

Really not comparable to a fresh made dish of RB&R. Also, not all that hard to make from scratch. Just chop veggies (onion, celery, bell pepper, garlic) in food processor and measure out spices. Sausage or other meat still needs be cut by hand.
Then only really hardship is it takes a while to cook on a stovetop, assuming recipe is using dried kidney bean (~3 hours?)
