For what it's worth, the gaming bunk bed has been down to $50 at Walmart. I'm not sure if it reflects the quality.

It's a bed with a TV mount. What does that have to do with junk food? When I was a kid, race car beds were cool. I don't remember parents complaining about a much more relevant cup holder fear. And we grew up fine, other than riding for miles with a blinker on

Its not really about laziness, id say its more about space. My place the bedrooms are tiny and this is the bed my son has, this way I dont need an entertainment stand for him.
