This CRKD Gibson Les Paul controller is mainly appealing as a modern rhythm game guitar for Fortnite Festival, Rock Band style play, and PC use. It works on PC without drivers and can connect by Bluetooth, USB adapter, or wired USB, and the Xbox version is also compatible with Xbox One and Series S and X. The mechanical strum bar gets praise, while the standard Xbox neck frets are described as very stiff. The Xbox model is also narrower in platform support than the multiplatform version, and the price has recently been seen at its lowest yet, with earlier coupon pricing even lower.
people who want to use a CRKD guitar controller for rhythm games on PC because it connects without drivers and can work via Bluetooth, a USB adapter, or wired USB.
Fortnite Festival players who already own the controller because it works with Fortnite Festival (the commenter says they own it themselves).
buyers who have an Xbox One/Series S|X and want the Xbox-specific compatibility because the Xbox version is described as being for Xbox One/Series S|X while the multiplatform version targets other consoles.
people who want the widest console compatibility (including older systems) because the multiplatform guitar is preferred for broader support like Switch and PS3, and the commenter notes you can use PS3 rhythm game disks for a low cost.
people hoping it will teach them guitar because one commenter is disappointed that it doesn't teach you guitar.
parents or kids who already learned guitar through Rocksmith on Xbox and want a real learning substitute because the commenter says they wouldn't waste time on this controller as a substitute for learning guitar.
buyers who specifically want the Xbox model's feel/neck setup because one commenter says the standard neck on their Xbox-related model is "quite terrible," with frets that feel too stiff even after removing rubber pieces.
buyers who need the multiplatform console support because one commenter says "No you need the multi-platform version," implying the Xbox version won't meet that intended use.

My kids and I learned to play an actual guitar on the Xbox with Rocksmith. I wouldn't waste time with this toy personally.
I believe I was grandfathered in to the rivals expansion when I bought a used physical disc a year or so ago (at the time I believe rivals was free when you inserted a physical copy). I also noticed this correlated with the price of the physical disc doubling in price (20->40) second hand. Hot tip: many bigger used video game shops still have it labeled at $20 from a year ago if you can find a copy in one. I saw 4 like this the other day.
Price dropped to $79.94 for me.
