Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door on Switch is a modern remake of the GameCube classic, with updated graphics, HD presentation, and enough added touches to make it feel refreshed. The Switch version also adds extra bosses and warp pipes that reduce backtracking, while keeping the game's witty story, timing based combat, and charming cast intact. The main tradeoff is performance, since the remake runs at 30 frames per second instead of the original 60. At around $30, it lands as a strong value for a beloved RPG with some modernization, though the extra content is fairly limited.

It is a remake of the GameCube game, with updated graphics, new models/textures, and additional changes on a modern Switch release. The remake also adds some new content, including extra bosses, new warp pipes to reduce backtracking, and one new badge.
At $30, it is hard to argue against for a lot of shoppers, especially if you liked the GameCube original. The Switch version is portable, in HD, and widely described as a worthwhile update even with the 30fps cap.
No, the Switch remake runs at 30fps, while the original GameCube version ran at 60fps. That matters most if you want the original frame rate or are sensitive to combat and animation smoothness.

Just sticking to Nintendo, I personally consider the "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" HD release on Wii U to be an awful, lazy port, especially compared to Wind Waker's HD re-release, which involved an enormous amount of effort.
The TTYD release on the Switch is more like Wind Waker HD! An incredibly huge amount of work went into modernizing this game. It was, essentially, a wholly new game when it comes to the time and resources invested in developing it, with the previous game existing just as a guideline. New engine, coding, models, textures, you name it!
I believe a lot of folks who believe this is not a deal may not understand that. The level of effort that went into making this is as much as (and in some cases, is more than) there would be put into any other brand new modern game.
Now, if that is still not enough for them, I understand. Everybody can spend their money on what they want! To me though, this is a wonderful deal on an excellent game that another generation gets a chance to enjoy!

Seriously though, its just slacktivism. Meanwhile deal sold out... People ahould be talking about if the deal is good or not instead of "protesting" 😬
Nintendo is releasing many new games
But they are also remaking the best of their catalog on their newer consoles.
Not all are great, but the majority are. They are updated, they are fun to play.
You don'thave to buy at 60.00 but some do because they want it, others wait foelr sales and thats me generally.
My kids love games I played 20 yeara ago.. so all good for me.
