Apple Watch Series 9 GPS and cellular stands out here for the stainless steel version, which feels more premium than aluminum and pairs with sapphire glass for better scratch resistance. The brown box packaging is unusual for a new watch, but the watch itself arrives new and can set up cellular easily through the Apple Watch setup app. Shipping has also come in quickly, with some orders arriving in two days. A few caveats remain around the generic packaging and reports of warranty issues, so it is best for shoppers focused on the stainless build and deal price.

  • Visible+ Pro setup can be handled through the Apple Watch setup app, which can confirm and activate cellular service.

  • Stainless steel models cost only about $10 more than the pink aluminum option, making the upgrade feel more worthwhile.

  • The watch can arrive quickly, with one order reporting delivery in two days after ordering.

  • Unboxing can include two USB charger pads, which may make charging more convenient for home and travel.

  • The watch can arrive in a generic brown box even when it is described as new, which raises return-expectation questions.

  • The stainless option may be limited to the 41mm size, which can be a drawback if you want 45mm.

  • The side knob can feel harder to turn when a protective case adds thickness, even though it still works.

  • The watch can be reported as out of warranty despite the listing's warranty claim, which can create risk if coverage matters.

Honest question, what would be the benefits of having that one for $50 less than the Apple Watch 11 GPS-cellular? The trade in value is almost $100 less than the Apple Watch 11. I am asking because I am going to buy a new one, but I usually use it for 2 years.
imo, the ss actually looks like a nice watch whipe aluminum looks like a cheap watch. also the sapphire glass guarantees itll last a long time without annoying you with scratches.

The package arrived from Woot in 2 days from the date I ordered (even though Woot! said 7-10 days).
The new watch was in a brown box which was in an outer box. There were TWO USB charger pads. One in the inner box and another in the outer box. Both generic but new (still had the peel-off plastic). I bought a 2-pack of the Misxi cases for $10. They snap right on and protect the screen and the body and have an actual glass top. Touch works fine through the case. The only slight negative is the knob on the side isn't as easy to turn since the case thickness reduces the amount exposed. Still works fine, though. Cellular was an easy set-up handled automatically by the Apple Watch setup app which opened the Visible routine that confirmed, added the esim to the watch, and activated.

Some comments were pushing for the steel case. With the Misxi, the watch is fully protected and you can't see the watch body anyway.

You are saying that it isn't worth $5 to protect the screen?

I've been wearing Apple Watch since 2015. While I think a screen protector is a good idea to prevent scratches to get you the best resale value, an actual case is overkill and ruins the experience.

Given the series 11 cellular was recently $300 (last week) and now the series 9 stainless model is sold out, this is not really a good deal.

Thanks, Eric for your thoughts.
I'm new to Apple Watches, having worn a Galaxy 5 for the last few years. Maybe it's me, but my experience has definitely not been ruined. The screen touches are fine, the side controls work as I would expect. Maybe since your a long-time Apple Watch person, you are used to something different.
