According to the questions and answers section on Amazon, this is made in Japan. Let's hope so. In for 1.

I've personally been slowly moving away from NIMH to Lithium ion. 1.5V same as alkaline and sustained voltage rather than droop based on capacity

But how do your devices know the correct battery level before it suddenly dies?

I have had great success with Eneloop, I only wish they would make these in Lithium.

I use eneloop Pros in my Xbox controller and the controller gives me a warning only minutes before disconnecting. So I'm not sure the eneloops, or my Xbox controller, are keeping tabs properly on battery life.

His point is that the way simple batteries like aa/aaa work in general is they gradually decrease output as they discharge, so devices are estimating capacity by calculating where they are between the estimated max output and the lowest threshold the device can still function at. If the battery instead output constant power then dropped off a cliff you wouldn't have any warning.

The good ones emulate a voltage drop when they're low so that you still get low battery warnings.
