Five Guys is a customizable burger deal that shines when loaded with toppings, Cajun fries, and the app or promo code. The BOGO math brings burgers down to roughly five to six dollars each in several checkout examples, and the free peanuts and generous fry portions add value. The main knocks are the high regular prices, extra fees on delivery, and the fact that fries and buns can be soggy or inconsistent at some locations. It feels like a solid way to get a better burger for less, especially if you skip the full meal upsell.

  • The promo code can fail or be unavailable at certain locations, and some checkouts show eligibility errors.

  • Fries quality can vary, with reports of soggy or limp fries at some locations.

  • Burger buns can disappoint, including reports of generic buns or buns going soggy quickly in wraps.

  • Delivery fees and taxes can erase much of the coupon value for delivery orders.

five guys used to be a favorite, now it's incredibly overpriced and overrated... i'm sticking with in 'n out
It's good but stupidly expensive and the fries are terribly expensive. Sure they give you a bunch but personally I don't want a bunch of greasy carbs

Two large burgers with 6 topping for $11.74 after tax. I bring them home & put my own extra sharp yellow cheese ( melted ) on them. If I'm not heading home afterward, I'll just bring a slice of American cheese to put on them. I do the same at most fast-food places that I rarely visit unless they have somewhat of a deal like this. Mac's fish filet always seems too only have a half a slice of cheese on it if that & their always so hot that the slice of cheese I put on it melts nicely. The Burger King near me always has BOGO regular size whoppers w/out any other added purchase.

Frozen fries? Clearly you've never been to In-N-Out. But thanks for pretending you have.
Well, the one I went to was in Las Vegas, maybe they do things differently there--but yep they were definitely frozen, you can tell because they all are perfectly identical and taste like nothing.

I agree on INO fries. How in the heck they can make such shitty fries and still do the business they do is beyond me. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks their fries are crap.

I know there are differences between INO and FG, but what I was trying show is the huge value of INO vs. FG. While not apples-to-apples as you state, the price comparison is apples-to-Mars, which I figured should even it all out. Big Grin

Not the same, but a double at INO is 4oz, a small burger at FG is 3.5-3.7oz. They have a meal for $13.99 at FG for small burger, small fry, small drink.

And INO fries are inedible.

The best deal I've done with Five Guys is use my 8.25% cashback BoA credit card to buy Uber Gift Cards from Costco online when they do their 25% off sales. Then I wait for the BOGO deals for Five Guys on Uber Eats and use the GCs to pay for them. I use the pick-up option on Uber Eats so that I don't have to pay a delivery fee. Combining all those together, I get the burgers really cheap.

I am of the same opinion, INO fries were terrible. However, one of my friends who swear by INO say you need to order the fries "well-done".

I must say the fries were so bad, I never went back to INO to try again.

Even in Hawaii, the most expensive state, two little burgers and a little fries is $25. None of these are actually "little" and they load the bag with fries; it's a meal for 2 non-obese adults.

I was given a code for my own BOGO from the last fiasco. I went and used the coupon and was very disappointed. The burger was very much overcooked, the buns were falling apart. On top of that the toppings were put on in such a way to make a mess. I decided to just skip this offer. I do like the fries but if you want the best ones make sure the potatoes come from Idaho. I have eaten a lot of 5 Guys as I used to do mystery shopping and they care about the burger quality as well as the fries equally. My last burger would have been graded poor and the fries were greasy. The oil was not the right temperature.

$70 for 2 kids and 2 regular burgers, fries, and a shake delivered to hotel. Never spent so much on a burger dinner but it hit the spot.

I have a Delta Amex gold card and a regular AMEX platinum card and it's not on either of mine
This is for the Amex Gold card only. Not Delta Gold, the regular Amex Gold. It has a monthly $10 dining credit that can be used at five guys

That's not true. A McDonald's big mack is about 10$. A burger anywhere is roughly the same price. You have five guys derangment syndrome.

How these "guys" stay open is a mystery to me. I never see anyone in line when I walk by the store.
The key is the buns that completely fall apart or are soggy within 60 seconds of being put into their burger wrap. who doesn't like trying to hold the internals of a burger together without a bun or a soggy bun squishing between your teeth like a tomato?

Very small burgers. I won't buy these for full price. Glad I chose pick up and didn't tip.

$4 and some change for a burger? That is overpriced? Not 1965 anymore.
A regular burger ( not a double) fries and a Coke is 22 bucks
