The more patties you add, the better value.

I just did the BOGO deal and had a FG burger a few weeks ago - $11+ out the door and I have to agree - not at all impressed anymore. I used to love FG - now meh. I of course had to add fries and there's the reason for these deals - addons.

EDIT: To add - even the fries don't seem to be as good. Maybe they rushed the cook time - they were mushy.
Everything goes better with Private Equity.

- a standard burger is $10.99

So you're math needs some work...

and their burgers need some help - not as good as they used to be years ago when they first opened...
I don't get why people are so delusional about Five Guys pricing - my only conclusion is their naming scheme makes people think a "standard" burger is the double.

A regular "little" burger at my local 5 guys is $7.59 ($8.49 w/cheese)

. You get a single cheeseburger "all-the-way" toppings and that's a 770 calorie burger - it ain't "little". So many people seem to think "Well I need a double bacon cheeseburger with fries and a milkshake" when at five guys you are literally talking about 2000 calories for all of that - no shit it's pricey you are ordering an entire day's worth of calories in 1 meal.

I haven't had five guys probably in 15 years. What am I missing? A cheese burger is $12 near me. Is this a double patty. For $5.50 for a double patty is pretty good. Whataburger is going to run me $9.99. Why are their fries so expensive though. Do you get enough for 2?

Makes me think it's not worth it, even for free.

I agree, not overpriced at all relative to everything else these days.
Even the most expensive burger on the menu is $15...$7.50 each for 2x Bacon Cheeseburgers (each w/ double patty) is NOT at all bad these days. They're also crazy generous w/ Fries (like "let's just fill a paper bag to the brim" generous)f

Even with their inflated prices, B1G1 of their most expensive burger + large fries + tax + tip is just under $30
A more realistic (calorie-wise) order of 2x Burgers (which you can absolutely load up with toppings) + regular fries + tax + tip comes out to just under $26, or $13 a person.
Not "cheap", but not "way overpriced" either

tipping at 5 guys? did they transition to full service dining? I guess that makes their prices make more sense.

LOL, do you work for McDonalds/BurgerKing/Wendy's or some other competing burger chain?

Because everyone orders in the app now and picks it up. No need for a line.
Yep, stupid not to use the app, frankly...painless and quick and avoids the language barrier if the staff are new immigrants.

I order via app, pick up and sit down to eat in-store half the time. They'll even give you a water cup if you don't feel like ingesting any liquid sugar a.k.a. fountain sodas.

Idk where the stigma cane that 5 guys is EXSPENSIVE when its roughly the same price everywhere else for way better high quality food. Nothing is better than 5 guys and its consistent and consistently ranked the best among customers and chiefs. You guys have FGDS.
Either that or they're shilling for the competing burger chains which are generally inferior---Smashburger comes close but less food for the same money. 😆

Those saying 5 Guys is way overpriced, I would disagree and say in comparison to other chains with only nominally lower prices (Wendy's comes to mind) they offer a sizeable portion of noticeably higher quality in what is often a cleaner atmosphere where you can see the food being prepared to order as you would like it.

2 for 1 makes this an incredibly economical choice and I welcome the offer.

If you feel a certain way about a business, deal, or offer, it's helpful to add additional comment or comparison to lead people to the deal or value where you think they'd find it instead of just shitting on what the OP offers, as it informs other people and adds informational value to the post as a whole.

Five Guys is KILLING it. I get mine all unconventionally made. I put toppings on the burger that only Five Guys offers. Thanks.
Yep, the customization options are awesome. You can add grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, etc. --- unlimited toppings! I just skip the lettuce, following Anthony Bourdain's excellent advice, because it makes the whole thing too soggy and messy without really adding much flavor.

Is it expensive? Yes. But the new "Big Arch" is $9 near me, and a cheeseburger from FG is ~$12. BOGO would put the burger around $6 each. It's a good deal.
