The U shape isn't for everyone but I don't mind mine. I have a Traditional II Jaguar and I prefer the C that comes on the Hybrid II models. Still, seems like a solid price for a MIJ neck

Is the C on the Hybrid II anything like the one on the Squier CV Strat? I love the profile on the CVs but unfortunately most Fenders have the modern C which has more meat on the shoulders. I hear the Hybrid II is a bit skinnier feeling, though.

Edit— just saw that you have a Jaguar, but it might be relevant still.

I have many guitars including a Strat, but I've never considered replacing my neck. Who is this for?

It's for someone who is building a project guitar that has a body, but needs a neck for it.

This is sad. Buy a cheap guitar and make it the way you want it. And if you never do any mods fine, then this is still sad at this price.
Why? Because Leo made these modular and inexpensive to make, so parts would be cheap. Now you pay for extra for labels and shapes. Sure it's you're right to over pay. Enjoy.

This is Fender vainly jacking up prices in your mind. If a "authentic" neck is $300 then how much more for a whole guitar? A trick. Ranging you.

You should know on Slick Deals, the lowest cost guitars are the best. It's all smoke and mirrors. And yes you should learn to setup your own; because it's to your playing style.

This idea of making a killing off of signature guitars and such hides the losses. It's not a small business career. However, a fool is born everyday.

It's sad to see the Classic Fender name playing games this way. Make a better product and/or service at an expert (and CNC) low mass produced price or go home. The world is calling and free market will out. Try a $59 eBay guitar and you'll see. Or $89 with a humbucker mix, like super strat.

People who build guitars, people who want an upgrade, people who like their guitar but want a different neck. Also, sometimes it makes sense to get a new neck rather than a refret.

I bought a Monoprice Indio as a beater to keep at my parents' place. It's amazing for the price, but it does not compare to my actual Fenders.
