Lol waiting for the peeps who will say you don't need this because they know the exact car everyone drives.

But I am jealous if all you need is a c clamp to reset your brake piston or whatever it's called. Mine unfortunately needs the one that rotates as it compresses

I've borrowed this before and used it to do my brakes. Definitely made the job go smoother.

I've been using just a C clamp for years, but I've been helping some friends and neighbors out that have screw in pistons. There are "ways" to screw it in, but these kits are helpful. Probably not heavy duty or a tool kit you would make a living off, but for $12 bucks and half of other kits this will do fine for the home mechanic. Thanks OP

Nice set for the money. I'm no expert but a C-clamp with an old brake pad has done the job just fine on many brake jobs I've done for myself and friends. I haven't dealt with screw-in pistons yet (thank goodness) but it looks like this set would do well with them.

On a side note, I own several Torin Big Red products and they're well built for my home mechanic needs. Just bought a pair of Torin 3 ton jack stands the other day.

Been using a kit similar to this for the better half of a decade. If you know what you're doing during a brake change, this will make things smoother. C clamp method is also viable, just this is a more "precise" way of going about resetting the piston.

Not sure what the DV's are about, but you need a set like this for modern rear disc brake calipers. You can *not* use a C-clamp on screw-in rear disc calipers... they must be screwed in. In addition, numerous vehicle manufacturer have unique mating surfaces on their rear disc brake pistons (that's why the kit has so many difft adapters).

The above said, this is a crazy good price for the entire kit, with case, in 2026 (esp given all the tariffs). One last note, if you buy one of these kits, just be sure to lube the threads on the caliper presses.

Lol yep I know all about it, I've got one.. Last thread there were a few people saying "just use a c clamp!". It's like they think all brakes are the exact same design.

Has anyone run into a make or model that the kit doesn't have the right adaptor? I recently discovered that my old little cube lookin device with different patterned nubs on each face (bought for an old 240sx Nissan) didn't work on a more modern Ford fusion. Does anyone know what this kit doesn't fit or ran into any issues?
How about getting additional pieces, possible?
Seems like a deal either way I guess.

for those that are inexperienced like I was - one of the spindles in the kit threads in reverse. I was getting nowhere for a bit until I figured that out

Glad I'm not the only one. Did the rear brakes on my car the other weekend and this had me pretty frustrated until I realized what I did wrong. 😅

I got one a couple months ago for a similar price and recently used it on a 2017 subaru and 2023 mitsubishi. Great to have and at this price better than renting a tool (especially if you order your pads online as opposed to buying them at autozone or whatever).
