This Cinemark Movie Club Groupon is a six month membership deal that can be especially valuable when paired with discounted gift cards and occasional extra coupons. The code prices differently in the app and browser, and the membership can sometimes be activated later, which makes it possible to stretch the offer into nearly a year. Redemption works through a browser checkout flow for some accounts, but others hit errors saying the code is not applicable or already used. The listing also says it is valid for new members only, so existing account eligibility may be limited.
Moviegoers who can use a browser checkout flow, because the membership can be redeemed there and the credits can stretch to about 15 discounted screenings when paired with discounted gift cards.
People with a basic Cinemark account who want to add Movie Club later, because the membership can be applied to an existing free account and the unused credits stay available after the membership ends.
Frequent moviegoers who want to stack memberships across the year, because one membership can be activated now and another held for later activation before it expires.
Shoppers who are comfortable managing account timing, because the membership can be used on an existing account when the current Movie Club term has ended.
Existing Movie Club members who want to stack another membership immediately, because an active membership can block adding a new one until the current term ends.
Checkout can redirect to an error page or fail after the code works, including messages about an empty shopping cart or a code already used on the account.
It can be applied to a basic free Cinemark account to add Movie Club, but an active Movie Club membership usually cannot take a new Groupon until the current membership ends. The Groupon listing also says it is valid for new members only, so some accounts may be blocked from redemption.
Use a browser, click "Join Movie Club," then enter the promo code at the bottom of the checkout page before signing in at the top. That flow worked for some accounts and avoids the app-based redemption issues.
You have 6 months to activate it after purchase. That lets you buy one now and, if needed, hold another to activate later after the first membership ends.
Unused credits do not disappear when the Movie Club membership expires; they remain in the basic Cinemark account and expire 6 months after the membership ends. That makes it possible to keep using leftover credits after the paid membership period is over.
Yes. The code can price differently in the app versus browser, and additional Groupon coupons or cashback can lower the cost further. Pairing it with discounted Cinemark gift cards can bring the effective movie cost down substantially.
PRO-TIP: This Groupon is usually only available for a few weeks each year, but you have 6 months to activate the membership. So, you can buy one now and immediately activate it. Then buy another in a few days or a week, which you can hold and activate after the first membership ends, giving you a full year of this deal. You just have to remember to activate the second one before it expires.

Does anyone know if more than one ticket can be redeemed in one month if you have extra rollovers?
Yes. Also, you do not lose unused credits when your Movie Club membership expires -- unused credits remain in your basic Cinemark account and expire 6 months after the end of the Movie Club membership.
I think there might be some confusion here between having a basic Cinemark account/membership (free) and the Movie Club membership. I think the person you replied to had a basic account but not a Movie Club membership, in which case the Groupon can be applied to the basic account to add a Movie Club membership. However, if you currently have an active Movie Club membership, you cannot "add" this membership to your current active membership -- you would have to wait until the current membership ends, then activate this membership. You have 6 months to activate this membership from date of purchasing the Groupon.
After clicking "Join Movie Club," follow the instructions. On the checkout page, first enter the promo code at the bottom of the webpage. Then, sign in at the top of the page.
Followed exactly as directed, tried this on multiple browsers, all of them direct me to "The shopping cars is empty" page.
What a POS website. Gonna try the app, but I had more problems in the past with their even more POS app. One of many reason I stopped paying for their service.
I keep checking randomly to see if it comes back, but no dice. Got my notifications set up now, so I won't miss the next time it's posted. Better luck to us next time.

This is not working for me. It says the code is not applicable for this account. The previous movie club membership (6 month groupon code) expired 3 days ago.

Hmm are you sure you selected the correct subscription level for the Groupon? I've used the Groupon many times on the same account; never had it not work. Worst case if you can't get it to work, you can just create another account. I had to create another account before because I had an active membership and a Groupon that was about to expire, so I needed another account to use the Groupon before it expired. Later after one or both memberships expired, customer service was able to consolidate the two accounts (move leftover credits from one account to the other) - so now I'm back to only one account.

Yes - monthly. the code itself worked but when submitting the order, it errors out. I called customer service - they said that a groupon code has already been used on this account, so a new code cannot be used.

Hmm maybe Cinemark have added some limitations to the use of the Groupon. The Groupon used to only be available for a short time each year, but it seems to have been available for many months now - like a permanent deal. I guess it's possible Cinemark are limiting its use to once per account now. That would suck.
