Also, this is a great time for me to schedule a bike tune-up:
50% off brake and shifting adjustments or $50 off a bike tune package at any REI Co-op Shop location. Terms apply.

REI Co op Members Day centers on a rare 20 percent off one full price item or one online outlet item, with free shipping and a few useful exceptions. The coupon appears to work on some hard to discount gear like the Garmin bike radar and Brompton branded bicycle accessories, and it can make outlet clearance, including Marmot items, land near direct brand pricing. It also lines up well with bike tune up savings at REI Co op Shop locations. Kayaks are excluded, and some prices were raised after the coupon went live, so the best value depends on the item.
The sale timing can help you schedule a bike tune-up using REI Co-op Shop discounts on brake and shifting adjustments or a $50 tune package.
The Garmin bike radar is coupon eligible even though Garmin watches and beacons are not.
The Outlet coupon can make Marmot clearance pricing come out similar to buying directly from Marmot.
REI help guidance indicates you can return an item even after using it, which can reduce risk for travel purchases.
Garmin is usually excluded from the promotion, so only specific Garmin products like the bike radar may qualify.
Kayaks are excluded from the deal, which limits what can be discounted.
Some items may become less attractive if REI raised prices after the coupon went into effect.
The $30 bonus card on membership requires spending $50+ in addition to the membership fee in one transaction, which adds a qualifying step.

How often do they have this "20% off full priced item" coupon?
I am traveling in July and want to buy a backpack. I need to become REI member first but additional $30 bonus card would be nice.
EDIT:
I found out you have to spend $50+ in addition to the membership fee in one transaction to be able to earn $30 bonus card. Somebody told me REI is having a $30 bonus card promo on membership starting 3/24, one day after 20% off full price item coupon expires.
