Keep in mind that you almost always get what you pay for with office chairs. A $30 or $40 one will almost certainly break or not be very ergonomic. This is also something that you might spend > 6 hours a day in, so ergonomics and comfort is important. I got a cheapo chair, it broke after a little while, then I got a really nice, lightly used one on Facebook marketplace for relatively cheap, and it has both lasted and been kind to me.

I got a KOLLIEE brand one off of amazon on sale for like $50 when the normal price is like $100. I then got a Steelcase think v1 chair for like $40 from Facebook Marketplace. These chairs are normally like $1000. It was lightly used, but still a killer deal. It might be a Buy It For Life chair. Obviously YMMV in regards to Facebook marketplace.
