The manufacturer specs are misleading. It has a 1440 vertical resolution. So if you're using a Mac, you won't get HiDPI.

Wait what? What do you mean, "It has a 1440 vertical resolution"? The titles, specs, everything all show a vertical resolution of 1440P and/or 2K. What is misleading?

According to Rufus, the AI on Amazon sales page, it's not 2K. Maybe Rufus is wrong. But I've found him to be accurate in the past.

I would say this listing is misleading; 5k2k typically refers to WUHD (5120x2160), this thing is WDQHD (5120x1440)

Interesting. That would be a weird thing to get wrong.
I did some digging on HiDPI. This thing isn't that nor does it claim to be that. In order to HiDPI at this size, this thing would need a crazy amount of pixels. Way more than Apple Studio Display XR. The Apple monitor has more pixels, smaller size 27", and different aspect ratio. Even if this display had the same amount of pixels, this still would not be a HiDPI display because of the sheer size difference.
The 5K is simply a reference to the horizontal resolution.

Ahh. Yeah sounds like this has been asked on the internet before.

Unsurprisingly, VA screen.
Note: It only has three total inputs (DisplayPort, HDMI 2.1, USB-C), but it is limited to 60 Hz on both HDMI and USB-C.
So, your only choice is to use the single DisplayPort connection for 120 Hz.

I would consider this to be their 5k2k offering: https://www.amazon.com/INNOCN-Inc...B0D7Q8N64F

I wonder why they took this different approach with listing titles

I own this. Bought it a year ago for $675. I use it for work and with PowerToys I split the screen into 4 zones. Outlook stays open in one and that gives me 3 active for work.its amazing. It is very big and very wide. It's hard to go to my wfh setup that's a regular uwqhd that's only split into 3 zones. I have USBC from my laptop as the input and that also charges my laptop. Very happy with it

You are right but 5K2K typically refers to the 16:9, 5120 x 2880 which is intended for those who want 1:1 pixel ratio while editing 4K videos. Very rare and made by LG a few years ago.

Then LG screwed up itself and released the newer 21:9 45" OLED 5120x2160 which is NOT 5K2K but called it 5K2K anyway.
Then these knock off 32:9, 49" 5120x1440 starting calling themselves 5K2K

Unfortunately the 5K2K has become a stupid marketing trick. They should only use the vertical (say 1440p or 2160p) and the aspect ratio 16:90, 21:9 or 32:9.

No 5k refers to 16:9 5120x2880, like how 4k refers to 16:9 3840x2160. 5k2k refers to 21:9 5120x2160 (5k x 2k). It's why it's not just called 5k.
